This piece exemplifies what it means to find the beauty in the common. The day I took this, most of the trail was pretty lifeless as far as taking pictures was concerned. As a birder, mallards don't usually much attention from me because I see them so often. I saw this guy (lady friend nearby) in this vernal pond, and despite being uninspired, took a few shots. I had no idea until I pulled up my pictures that the water was so beautiful. I love being surprised! This handsome guy is printed (I do my own printing) on an opalescent luster paper that really brings this piece to life. Dimensions shown are for unframed image.
