The day I took this picture, I was getting discouraged because I wasn't seeing any life on the beach, not even a gull to be found. As I walked, looking for small details that might strike my fancy (a practice that often pays off for me), I failed to notice just how spectacular the view was. At some point, I stopped, looked up and was immediately humbled by what I saw. The combination of a polarized filter and the angle of the the sun resulted in those crazy colors not always found in New England. Confession: I actually lightened the colors a little, because I didn't think anyone would believe me that they are indeed real. This image is printed on professional photo paper (I print my own), and professionally matted and framed in a handmade, hand-rubbed hard maple frame.
