My theory is it's hard to think of fungus as beautiful because the word, fungus, has negative connotations. You wouldn't want to find fungus growing in your refrigerator, right? But if you clear your head of the whole bad reputation thing, there really is a lot of beautiful fungus out there. This shot was taken in the winter, shortly after it snowed. The moisture intensified the colors of everything that had not been covered by the snow. The greens were so lush throughout the beautiful pattern of fungus adorning the side of a tree. This image is printed on professional photo paper (I print my own), and professionally matted and framed in a handmade, hand-rubbed hard maple frame.
