Shino Ikebana Sculpture Vase
This beautiful sculpture is made from an interesting mix of brown stoneware, granite, and local missouri clay. It was made using the kurinuki method, which is a japanese method of handbuilding. The piece has a wonderful wave-like shape with white porcelain slip with some waves which create a sense of movement and flow. The piece is glazed with a rich shino glaze that has a wonderful orange peel effect and interaction on the different surfaces. There is additionally some accents from wood ash on the piece.

This piece was fired to cone 11 in reduction and is a little heavier than most pieces due to the nature of construction.

This piece measures about 4.5" tall by 11.5" wide by 3.5" deep.
